Tustin Community Foundation's Tustin Tiller Days parade float at Alex Moving and Storage

Anyone who lives in or near Tustin is familiar with the three-day festival held in celebration of Orange County’s agricultural heritage. We’re of course referring to Tustin Tiller Days; an event the professionals at Alex Moving & Storage hold near and dear to their hearts. Co-founder Chris Uribe is a member of the Tustin Community Foundation’s board of directors and an active in various charitable and community involvement events.

The Parade

Since 1957, Tustin Tiller Days has featured a parade with floats made by local civic organizations, schools, churches, youth groups and other associations. The Tustin Community Foundation made a stunning float as usual and we were called upon to store it and keep it safe until show time. When it came time to announce the best creations after the parade on October 3rd, the float crafted by the Tustin Community Foundation received 2nd place!

Looking Forward

With a whole year until the next parade, there is a lot of work that needs to be done in order to make another float. Once the event ended, we rolled the float into our spacious storage facility. From this point forward, the wooden platform will be stored until it’s time to build a new float.

Next year, the Tustin Community Foundation will again assemble a team of excited volunteers to design and build a new float that builds upon the ideals of the Foundation and our values of our local community. This new creation will be built with using the wood base from this year’s design.
